Johnny Rodgers’s songs pay glancing homage to jazz, but also touch on country and folk with suave assurance. Last year he backed up Liza Minnelli on Broadway; in the spring, he played standards at the swanky Oak Room, and now he hits Joe's Pub with a set that highlights his own material.
