The Persuasions + The Sweet Divines with Maxine Brown

Still the reigning kings of traditional a cappella pop, the Persuasions have tackled everything from blues and gospel to the songbooks of Frank Zappa and the Grateful Dead. The group will help celebrate Brooklyn Botanical Garden's 100th birthday ("Bee-day," according to them) with the Sweet Divines, a band that features former members of the late, great Dansettes; like that band, the Divines take on soulful sounds from the ’60s and ’70s.
