The Tiptons Sax Quartet with Drums

Fronted by Jessica Lurie and Amy Denio and named after Billy Tipton, a female jazz musician who passed as a man for 50 years, the Tiptons have long been one of the stronger combos to emerge in the wake of the World Saxophone Quartet. Like the WSQ, they simulate a full instrumental palette with their multilayered arrangements; tonight they add an actual drummer to the mix.
