The Jalopy presents a delicious vintage bill tonight. The Two Man Gentlemen Band proves that making old-fashioned music needn't be polite or predictable: Its whiskey-on-the-breath blend of hot jazz, bluegrass and all things old-timey is often feverishly paced, with laugh-out-loud funny lyrics. In support, Brooklyn all-gal trio the Bandana Splits sing in ’60s girl-group harmony with appealing, heart-on-sleeve honesty—there's no artsy Vivian Girls–style knowingness to the music, nor are they overly cutesy. Dee-lightful.
