Time Out says

If the Radical Jewish Culture movement spearheaded by Tzadik label head John Zorn has a home base, it’s surely this house of worship. The congregation’s rabbi, Greg Wall, doubles as a soulful sax rebel and a linchpin of the grittily fervent avant-klezmerists Hasidic New Wave. At tonight’s event, that outfit keeps the Hanukkah flame burning, along with Paul Shapiro’s turbocharged Jewish-jazz crew Midnight Minyan, guitarist Yoshi Fruchter’s shred-happy punk-fusionists Pitom and more. A mosh-pit-cum-hora-circle is not entirely out of the question.
