Time Out Says
Transylvania native Anna Kozma grew up watching her grandmother cook kurtoskalacs, thin sugar-crusted rings of yeast pastry, over an open-flame hearth. She creates her own versions, made with organic milk and eggs, in an electric oven at this Long Island City bakeshop. Get yours with the traditional topping of caramelized sugar or add walnuts, coconut, almond, cinnamon, chocolate and ginger.
