Real love isn’t like the movies. It doesn’t start with a meet-cute and end in happily ever after. Real love is strange, complicated and often-times messy. Especially in New York. To celebrate the final season of Love, streaming now on Netflix, we’ve asked formerly Undateable New Yorkers to share their thoughts and advice on love and romance.Advertisement Love starts off where happy endings finish–it’s tangled, twisty and unflinching. Just like the stars of our weekly Undateables column. If you’ve ever wondered ‘where are they now’, here’s your answer.

Q: How does your current status make you feel?
A: A lot of things. But I'm feeling empowered in a way.

Q: What do you think made you undateable?
A: I don't want it yet. I love going out, but I'm argumentative. And trust issues.

Q: What's it like dating in a city where everyone’s always busy?
A: It’s made my outlook on relationships change. It really is a two way street, you both have to want to put in equal effort. Sometimes the hustle is way more satisfying when you both collect your coins.

Q: What’s the best way to get out of an argument with your significant other?
A: Oh i think avoidance isn't a good idea (as in: I avoid relationships).

Q: What's one piece of relationship advice you've been given that still rings true?
A: Communicate. Communicate. Communicate.

Q: What's the cringiest thing a date’s ever asked you?
A: "Considering what happened [him giving me an STI] could you give me that second date now?" and he wasn’t trying to make light or be funny.

Q: What’s the longest you’ve ever been single?
A: I didn't date anyone from when I was born until I was 17, so 17 years.

Q: What’s your favourite first date spot?
A: A bar in the East Village called Drexler’s because it's a stone's throw from my apartment and I am lazy.

Q: What’s your favourite coupled-up date spot?
A: My couch because it's inside my apartment and I am lazy.

Q: What’s one piece of relationship advice you’ve been given that still rings true?
A: "When you look at someone through rose-colored glasses, all the red flags just look like flags." - BoJack Horseman S2E10

Q: If you had to choose between staying in love or staying in the city which would you pick?
A: The city, because that’s a relationship I can control. I can leave here whenever I want but the city can't leave me.

Q: Dating apps: apocalyptic or epic?
A: I don't consider myself an expert here because I've only dabbled, but I'll go ahead and say apocalyptic.

Q: Do you have a single-life mantra?
A: Always be open to taking risks, except if he doesn't want to use a condom.

Status: Single

Q: What’s your favourite first date spot?
A: Love doing bar trivia.  It's a nice change of pace, always something to keep the conversation moving, and if they fill that magic music/sports knowledge hole, I've got the wedding ring immediately ready to go.

Q: What’s your favourite coupled-up date spot?
A: Escape Rooms are the premiere place to let festering resentments explode in new and exciting ways in front of your closest friends.

Q: What’s the best way to get into an argument with your significant other?
A: "Those jeans?"

Q: What’s the sweetest thing a love's ever done for you?
A: Kindly ignoring the fact I wear flip flops way too much for a normal human.

Q: What does it take to get you to fall in love?
A: Someone who already knows who they are, doesn't need me to fill a personality hole, wants to watch Star Wars, and sing bad karaoke. Simple!

Q: Are you a Mickey or are you a Gus?
A: Sadly, a total Gus. Have I been guilty of buying DVD’s for director commentaries? Check. Do I often think I'm more quirky and endearing than I actually am? Check. Do I get too much into my headspace about situations I should just sit back and enjoy? Check. Send help!
