THE DATE
First impression
Marco: “I got there early and was getting a little nervous, then in walks this really cute guy. I was like, Oh, I hope that’s him. Luckily, it was, and he seemed really kind and energetic.”
Elliot: “I was late and a little frazzled coming in. We met at the table, and he got up and said hello. Right away, I could tell he had a very pleasant and present demeanor.”
Chemistry
Marco: “He started talking to me like he’d known me for a long time, and we found out we’re in similar professions. I thought there was chemistry, definitely.”
Elliot: “I’m not sure if we particularly vibed, but the two hours we had together were very enjoyable. He seemed like a good person with a good head on his shoulders.”
Awkward Moment
Marco: “There were literally none—not a single moment where I couldn’t think of what to say or anything. It felt really natural and great the entire night.”
Elliot: “The only time I felt awkward was when I showed up 10 minutes late and then had to apologize to him. I’m usually a very punctual person.”
Afterward
Marco: “The night ended really smoothly. It was raining, so we were both leaving in cars. We exchanged numbers, and before he got into his car, we hugged goodbye.”
Elliot: “We wanted to split the server’s tip, so we exchanged numbers via Venmo. I was trying to find a cab and then had to hop in one quickly, so I was like, ‘Hey, gotta go!’ ”
Verdict
Marco: ♥♥♥♥♥ “It was just a good, really solid first date. He was really open and friendly—definitely one of the better dates I’ve had. I’m gonna text him for a second one.”
Elliot: ♥♥♥ “I think we’re probably just friends, but I had a good time. It was nice meeting another human. He texted me this morning, but I wouldn’t say there’s a second date.”
