This bouncy barrio musical has plenty of old-fashioned Broadway heart and a thrilling beat—composer Lin-Manuel Miranda’s invigorating pulse of Latin rhythms, mixed with the percussive dynamism of hip-hop. The show’s energy has deflated since its 2008 debut, but perhaps it will get a boost in its closing weeks from the charming Miranda, who returns to the lead role of Usnavi on December 25.
