Krapp's Last Tape

It's lovely to see English film veteran John Hurt take a shot at Samuel Beckett's reel-to-reel-playing hermit, Krapp, but this production (directed by Michael Colgan for Gate Theatre Dublin) really ought to be on a double bill for a top ticket price of $125. Plus, the eerie intimacy of the piece works better in a smaller venue. (You can see Hurt's filmic rendition of Krapp on YouTube for free.)—David Cote
