Time Out says

No script survives, alas, of the first recorded English-language play in North America: William Darby's Ye Bear & Ye Cubb, which was staged in a Virginia tavern in 1665 and so upset at least one audience member that Darby was arrested and tried for public wickedness. This new work, devised collaboratively by No.11 Productions and directed by Ryan Emmons, imagines both the performance and the backlash.
