Jacob Hashimoto, Skyfarm Fortress

Hashimoto fills the gallery with an enormous installation hung from the ceiling, made of elements that recall traditional paper lamps or kites from Japan. Hundreds of individual panels, circular as well as square, have been suspended in neat rows at varying heights, creating a staggered series of levels, some larger in total area than others. They also range in color from monochromatic black and white to brightly hued or patterned. The result is both festive and serene.
