“There are some cool bars in Park Slope. One of my favorites is Commonwealth (497 Fifth Ave at 12th St, Park Slope, Brooklyn; 718-768-2040). It has pinball and free popcorn. And they have a good happy hour from 4 to 7pm with $4 beers and well drinks.”

  3. “When it’s cold out, I like hanging out at coffeeshops and reading. There’s one near [NYU] called The Bean (54 Second Ave at 3rd St; 646-707-0086, thebeannyc.com). It has a very wintry feel. I like doing relaxed things during the winter because it’s so depressing.”

“When it’s not snowing, I ride my bike. There’s a three-mile loop that goes around Prospect Park (718-965-8951, prospectpark.org), and most of the time I do three loops and then I go lie down in the middle of the field.”

“I like ice-skating, for sure. Last year I went to Bank of America Winter Village at Bryant Park (Sixth Ave between 40th and 42nd Sts; 212-661-6640, wintervillage.org)—it’s free, you just have to pay for your skates ($15).”
