The fourth annual festival of all things audio kicks off this weekend with a line-up of the biggest names in radio and podcasting, including Ira Glass, host of This American Life, and Michael Barbaro, host of the New York Times's audio show, The Daily. Krista Tippett, Talib Kweli and Wyatt Cenac round out the headliners. Storytelling sessions and musical performances are on tap, along with discussions about the 2020 election, and the future of podcasting over the next ten years. The festival also features the world premieres of two ambitious projects: Noctvrnal, an audio art installation that transforms festival-goers brain waves into a meditative musical soundscape; and The Con an interactive audio crime noir in four acts that takes participants through various locations in the hotel, from the Main Hall and Cinema Bar to a stairwell and private guest suite. The Con stars Edgar Oliver, the downtown theater legend and esteemed storyteller for The Moth. Tickets are $149 to $750.
