New Yorkers have taken to the streets in their thousands in the past two weeks, following verdicts on the Michael Brown case in Ferguson and the Eric Garner case here in NYC. In both instances, grand juries chose not to indict, and for some, these decisions were shocking; for others, the decisions felt heartbreakingly familiar. The response in New York was immediate—locals organized protests and die-ins, and shut-off thoroughfares as a way of making their voices heard. We've collected together some of the most striking images here, and we've also listened to New York City protestors speak up on this most critical issue.
