Get fired up for South Street Seaport's Pier/Party where there will be a weekend full of live music, dance parties and a free movie showing all to commemorate Independence Day. The festivities start with guitarist and singer Chris Bergson Blues, followed by a swing party on Friday where Dandy Wellington and His Band will play 1930s-inspired tunes. July 4 you can catch the star-studded USO Show Troupe then Hungry March Band, a Brooklyn group known for its eclectic brass sounds. After that, stick around the pier for the Macy's fireworks. The celebrations round off your weekend with a free outdoor showing of super-hero-comic-book-turned Blockbuster The Avengers.
