Time Out says

Even though a woman has not yet been elected to the country’s highest political office, the First Lady is a prominent (and powerful) fixture in the White House. And nine of the Presidents’ wives—including Eleanor Roosevelt and Jacqueline Kennedy—have hailed from New York, more than any other state. Historian Elizabeth Kahn Kaplan of the New York Council for the Humanities will discuss the trials and triumphs of the First Ladies from the Empire State. Advance registration is requested.
