Whisk(e)y Mondays: Laphroaig

At this installment of Ward III's free weekly tastings, whiskey lovers can get a schooling from Simon Brooking, master ambassador for Laphroaig and Ardbeg. Arrive anytime between 8pm and 10pm, when Brooking will be leading small groups of about 10 guests in a brief discussion of how Scotch is made and what makes it distinctive. Once you're up to speed, he'll guide you through a tasting in which you'll use an eye-dropper to add a single drop of water to at least two peaty Laphroaig whiskeys—the process helps to open up the aromas and flavors of the spirit without diluting it.
