Some of older folks might recall Seberang Perai's former moniker, 'Province Wellesley', named after colonial administrator Richard Colley Wellesley. Today, it is one of the few populous areas in Penang with Penang Bird Park, Bukit Panchor State Park and Firefly Sanctuary to boast about.
