The 16 very best nightlife spots in Prague
Pragueâs got a nightlife spot for every kind of night. And yes, we really mean every kind of night. Whether youâre up for a stylish bar, a hearty pub or even a club in an old abattoir (yes, really), the Czech capitalâs nightlife options are amongst the most impressive of any European city. The best clubbing and drinking spots are almost always outside Pragueâs city centre, but donât miss out on the Old Town, either. While plenty of city centre joints have abandoned character in favour of profits, thereâs still real fun to be found in the likes of HoleĆĄovice, Smichov, KĂĄrlin. So without further ado, hereâs our lowdown of Pragueâs most essential nightlife spots.  RECOMMENDED: đą Where to stay in PragueđŽ The best restaurants in Pragueđ The best things to do in Pragueđ» The best bars in Prague This guide was recently updated by Yaren Fadiloglulari, a writer based in Prague. At Time Out, all of our travel guides are written by local writers who know their cities inside out. The 40 coolest neighbourhoods in the world
Itâs that time again. Every year, we ask thousands of city-dwellers to tell us the coolest spots in their cities. What are the places locals love and visitors flock to? Where are the exciting new openings across food, drink and culture? Where are people going out, hanging out and having fun? For the sixth year running, the results are in. Over 12,000 people had their say in this yearâs shortlist, naming the neighbourhoods in their hometowns where everyone wants to be right now. Then, we narrowed down the selection with the insight and expertise of city editors and local experts who know their cities better than anyone else. To create and rank the final list, we considered factors including community and social ventures, access to open and green space, and thriving street life. In 2023, our neighbourhoods are more global than ever before. The rise and rise in post-pandemic digital nomadism has led to an explosion of brand-new community spaces, multi-purpose culture centres and more cafĂ©s than we can count on two hands. But while most of these neighbourhoods have experienced a transformation over recent years, they remain resolutely local at heart. Slick new developments and cool cafĂ©s might bring in new crowds, but neighbourhood stalwarts â from old pubs to family greengrocers â keep it real. The worldâs coolest neighbourhoods this year are, therefore, places with big personalities. Each areaâs diversity is reflected in its food, culture and festivals. Community is key: local

Dva Kohouti
Whatâs the vibe? The first thing youâll notice when you step inside Dva Kohouti are its tall, stainless steel beer tanks. Theyâre there to remind you that your beer wonât be an ordinary one, as the bar brings together a brewery and a taproom. Located in the Karlin neighbourhood away from the tourist crowds, the bar is a popular hangout for beer lovers. No matter the time of the day, youâll see people sitting on its long wooden communal benches, chatting, or grabbing some food at its nearby burger spot. On warm summer days, sit outside in the courtyard â youâll often find events and DJ sets out here. What should I drink? Dva kohouti proudly brews its own beer. Try one of their lagers, IPAs or APAs. Prices depend on the beer, but often range from 64 CZK to 84 CZK. How late is it open? Open from 3pm to 1am on weekdays, 12pm to 1am on Saturdays, and 12pm to 10pm on Sundays. Whatâs worth visiting nearby? Famous Czech restaurant chain LokĂĄl has a branch right next to Dva Kohouti. For some delicious coffee and dessert, try MĆŻj ĆĄĂĄlek kĂĄvy. đ Discover more of the best restaurants in Prague
Hemingway Bar
Whatâs the vibe? Shock horror: everything in Hemingway Bar is inspired by writer and bar lover Ernest Hemingway. As you enter the dim-lit bar, youâll be greeted by Hemingway photos and posters on the walls, shelves lined with a wide range of spirits, and a â20s speakeasy design. Even the menu reflects Hemingwayâs life, featuring unusual drinks named âWooden Penâ, âAutumn in Chicagoâ and âShort Storyâ. Sit at the bar to watch the bartender skillfully prepare your drink, or find a table to enjoy the cosy atmosphere with your friends. Reservations are recommended, especially if youâre visiting on the weekend. What should I drink? You simply must try one of their signature cocktails, if only to do justice to their theme. If youâre unsure what to get, ask the very knowledgeable bartenders for recommendations. Top tip: not for the faint hearted, for sure, but absinth cocktails are very popular here. Prices are higher than most places in Prague, but youâre paying for seriously good cocktails and a central location, so we think itâs reasonable; expect to pay between 285 CZK and 385 CZK for a cocktail. How late is it open? Open till 1am Monday to Thursday (and Sunday) and 2am on the weekends, this spot is always a vibe. Whatâs worth visiting nearby? The bar is next to many of Pragueâs most popular attractions; you can cross the famous Charles Bridge, watch a play at the National Theatre, or grab a historic coffee at CafĂ© Louvre. đ Discover more of the best things to do in Prague
