The prolific Japanese photographer and artist creates abstract works on display by capturing the rays of sunlight with a Polaroid camera, and then printing the images onto silk squares. The project is part of Sugimoto’s collaboration with Hermès Éditeur – a project that started in 1973 as a way of allowing selected artists to design works for their silk scarves.
