Time Out says

It's a small world after all, as the jingle goes, and that is quite literally true at the whimsical exhibition Itsy Bitsy Teenie Meenie Super Mini Thingy. Held at Kult Gallery, this showcase brings you into the world of miniature art through the works of over 25 local and international artists.

Miniature art is, simply put, very small art. More specifically, the subjects in miniature art are often depicted at 1/6 of their actual size. At Itsy Bitsy Teenie Meenie Super Mini Thingy, you'll not only be introduced to this intricate miniature world, but also to the myriad of forms that it can take. There are over 75 creations spanning mediums of painting, clay art, diorama, tattoos, origami, embroidery, and many more.

Take the centrepiece, a diorama by Singaporean-based artist Chester Sim, depicting a hidden island off the coast of Singapore where fantastical creatures roam. Around the room are more works, including the creepy yet captivating miniature sculptures by Qimmyshimmy, the adorably tiny embroidered works by smolchet, and a small-scale kopitiam scene by Ting Corner. Squint through a magnifying glass to witness the struggle between man and machine in a detailed piece by Cypriot artist Gregory Grozos and marvel at the painstakingly-made mini origami by Malaysian artist Khin Hooi Ng.

To give you an even deeper appreciation of the skill, patience, and creativity or miniature artists, Kult Gallery also has a line-up of workshops and artist talks over the weekends. Make your own mini pottery items with Terra & Ember or get a tiny piece of forever art on your body from tattoo artist Tiredbutwoke. There will also be a miniature food clay workshop, tiny tarot card reading, and an intimate sharing session with three of the exhibiting artists.

Scale things down at Itsy Bitsy Teenie Meenie Super Mini Thingy, happening from July 21 to August 6 at Kult Gallery. For more information on the artists, artworks, and weekend events, head to kult.online.
