Connect with fellow movie enthusiasts around the city through Singapore Film Society's (SFS) Netflix parties. This week, SFS is hosting an online get-together featuring Da 5 Bloods (June 12 at 8pm) and Spider-Man: Into The Spider-Verse (June 13 at 8pm), with a post-screening chat with film critic and enthusiast Jedd Jong on comics, animation as a medium, and race and culture representations.
Directed by Spike Lee, Da 5 Bloods follows four African-American vets battling the forces of man and nature when they return to Vietnam seeking the remains of their fallen squad leader and the gold fortune he helped them hide. Spider-Man: Into The Spider-Verse shows just how there can be more than one friendly neighbourhood crime fighter.
To partake in SFS's Netflix party, simply join its Telegram Channel where it'll post the link to the watch party right before the screening. However, be sure to install the Netflix Party Chrome plugin and log into Netflix (make use of that free trial if you're not subscribed) beforehand too.
