The modern space – with its timber and brick decor, and campy soundtrack of Bananarama and Rick Astley – gives little hint of its Thai provenance. But the breezy menu, dotted with snapshots of Bangkok, dishes out quickly cooked and delicious staples. Start with a pomelo salad tossed with chilli and dried shrimp or the fried discs of fish cakes sprinkled with fried basil leaves. Tender chunks of curry-marinated chicken are charcoaled in pandan leaves, while the sweet, thick gravy of the massaman curry has tender chunks of beef and potato. Wash it all down with a tall glass of chilled lemongrass tea.
