Time Out says

When Supperman Speakeasy & Grill first opened late 2022, they carved out a name for themselves with Angus steaks and other charcoal-grilled proteins. But this casual restaurant in the East has since launched a new weekend brunch. Unlike the many other cafés that line Joo Chiat Road, there’s not a hint of the hackneyed – while still making use of traditional breakfast ingredients like creamy avocados and eggs. Instead, it’s clear that Supperman has a penchant for hearty grub – nachos, tacos, and burgers – all heaped and dripping with savouriness. On the weekends, you wouldn’t mind getting your hands dirty for such decadence.

What you get is a full-on embrace of “adult comfort food”. Start with the pulled beef brisket nachos ($19), generously loaded with guac, salsa, and cheese. It’s a burst of flavours, ideal for nibbling on when you’re out on the weekend with a large group of friends. You’ll also want to order a selection of Masa tacos, all freshly handmade and hand-pressed daily – these check all the boxes. The slow-cooked beef carnitas ($18) prove to be a crowd-favourite, not only for the pulled beef, but also for the drizzled blend of chimichurri, jalapenos, and roasted tomatoes. Other tacos range from the classic carne asada ($18) to the baja fish ($17).

But it’s the lineup of burgwiches, burger-styled sandwiches, that keeps to Supperman’s ethos of comfort food. Rather than burger buns, these use a homemade soft dinner roll that’s baked fresh daily, akin to those served in Singapore’s old-school Western eateries. The Supperman Cheeseburger ($24) is the obvious choice, hefty with two Angus beef brisket patties that are made from scratch and seasoned with a savoury in-house blend of spices. The true test of any good burger is the juiciness of it. Chock-full with condiments like grilled red onions, tomato carpaccio, and a spiced green chilli mayo, it was a sure-fire pass. You can also try the egg and avocado burgwich ($17), crabcake burgwich ($22), or pulled beef burgwich ($19).

Supperman also has a cocktail list, featuring concoctions like whisky-infused Shoddy Man’s Balls ($21) and a bubbly gin-based Swinger ($23).
