The date: Cocktails and dinner at Opus Bar & Grill.

First impression

Dominic: 'I was slightly nervous. I got there first, but went to the washroom and found her at my table. It was easy to start the conversation, though.'

Michelle: 'I expected him to be older, but he turned out to be around my age, which I liked. I was nervous at first, but began to feel more like myself once we started talking.'

Chemistry

Dominic: 'She's cute and conversant, which made it easy to chat. We both like animals! When we talked, I didn't feel like I was being judged at all.’

Michelle: 'It wasn't bad. We maintained a lot of eye contact. It was nice chatting to him about our relationships, school and his National Service experiences.'

Awkward Moment

Dominic: 'None, really, except when we first met.'

Michelle: 'None. We ate and chatted, and there weren't any long bouts of silence.'

Afterward

Dominic: 'We went to watch Terminator after. I'm not a fan of the show, but I wanted to hang out more with her. I later got her number, and kissed her on the cheek.’

Michelle: 'He asked if I wanted to watch a movie, and I agreed. After, he took my number, and we took a selfie to show to his friends – I was quite happy about that.'

Verdict

Dominic: ♥♥♥♥♥ ‘It went quite well. We'll definitely meet up again. She mentioned that she likes going to a dog café in Bugis – I might ask her to hang out there.’

Michelle: ♥♥♥♥ 'We really clicked. I was surprised I managed to meet someone this way. He said he'll ask me out again, but I won't make a move if he doesn't.'

The atmosphere 'I thought the ambiance was good. It wasn't too crowded and it was definitely a good place to talk and get to know someone better.' – Dominic

The food 'I liked all our dishes, especially the tender 36- hour pork belly ($36) and charcoal-grilled king prawn ($21), which were really fresh.' – Michelle

The drinks 'I'm not really knowledgeable about wines, but the Italian 2012 Franz Haas ($30/glass) wine was not too bitter.' – Michelle
