Time Out says

For over 30 years, Journey East has been shaping Singapore’s design scene from its longtime home at Tan Boon Liat Building. This is where you go when “cookie-cutter” just won’t cut it. The showroom is a carefully curated mix of rare Midcentury Modern and Art Deco finds, contemporary statement pieces from United Strangers, and sustainably crafted furniture by dBodhi. Add playful, high-design accents from brands like Seletti, Pappelina, and Gangzai, plus warm lighting by Tala, and you’ve got a space that feels equal parts stylish and lived-in. It’s not just a furniture store either – Journey East regularly hosts jazz nights, workshops, art installations, and cult-favourite vintage fairs.

What’s on

Vintage Fair by Journey East

Vintage designer bags, antique jewellery, rare, design-led homeware and small-batch natural wines – expect to find only treasures at Journey East’s Vintage Fair and nothing less. The furniture showroom transforms yet again, this time into a retail-therapy haven for passionate collectors. The weekend vintage market features a curated selection of local favourites and indie brands, many of which we know you’ve probably been eyeing from afar. AltNeu offers one-of-a-kind, nostalgic knick-knacks from across the globe, while Herra Vintage boasts a range of delicate and elegant timepieces. On the other hand, Late For School has handcrafted bags in eye-catching colourways and patterns, while Peony Jade Jewels and Eye of the Cat offer standout pre-loved accessories. Other vendors also making an appearance include Suma General Store, Wicked Wants and The Amphora Project. And, for the coffee lovers, get your caffeine fix from Pick Me Up. As usual, it’s a BYOB event. So if you’re planning to shop, make sure to bring a bag (or two) to take home your new retro finds.
