Time Out says

Following the success of the online streaming of Falling and Late Company, Pangdemonium has just announced that it will stream Dragonflies by Stephanie Street. The play originally premiered at the 2017 Singapore International Festival of Arts, and then as part of Pangdemonium's Hope and Home Season. An examination of the plight of migrants, xenophobia, alienation within a world in crisis, and a father's fight to protect his family, Dragonflies is a thought-provoking and relevant play for the times.

"This pandemic is making us hide in our homes and distance ourselves from one another. It’s a chance to appreciate those amongst us who are a long distance from their real homes – some here to make our homes more comfortable, others who literally make our homes – and for whom 'home quarantine' means something quite different than for the rest of us," says Pangdemonium in a Facebook page. "It’s a time for us to reflect on how dependent we all are on one another, in ways that are too easily taken for granted. It’s a wake-up call for us to realize that we are all in this as one - and that is bigger than the sum of all our differences."

Pangdemonium will be streaming the production of Dragonflies (with captions) on Vimeo from 8pm on Friday, May 8 to 11.50pm on Thursday, May 14 on playdate.pangdemonium.com. While it's free to watch, do consider donating to the theatre company to help them tide through the tough times.

If you're watching Dragonflies with your kids or younger siblings, do take note that the play was given an Advisory 16 (some mature content and coarse language).
