Time Out says

There's something about listening to the songs that defined our youth. Perhaps it's the memories tied to the songs or the fact that you know all the lyrics from the "ooh's" to the "yeah's." But instead of hitting rewind on your Spotify throwback playlist, why not cosy up at the Esplanade for live renditions of your favourite chart-toppers from the swingin' sixties to the naughty noughties? There is something for everyone – a diverse array of performances spanning numerous genres, time periods and cultures will be on offer.

Look forward to four performances this Mother’s Day weekend. On Saturday evening, the Joyful Voices Chorale, a local community choir comprising both parents and children, will regale audiences with a selection of local numbers and familiar songs from musicals. On the same evening, BigDaddyRai will be performing songs from well-known singers like Taylor Swift and John Mayer, as well as lesser known artists such as Japanese Rock Band.

On Sunday, double act ShiLi & Adi will sing a variety of multilingual songs that will captivate audiences from all walks of life. If you’re looking for a performance that celebrates mom, the Singapore Police Force (SPF) band will also be entertaining audiences that evening with a medley of nostalgic and classic tunes dedicated to all mothers. Head over to the Esplanade this weekend for a walk down memory lane and a family-friendly way to celebrate Mother’s Day.

As the performances are free, ticketing is not required and seating is available on a first-come, first-served basis. For more information on performances, showtimes, and locations, visit Esplanade’s official website to find out more. Cam Khalid and Vianne Chia
