Time Out says

What's a better 55th birthday gift for Singapore then sending well wishes and heartfelt messages? After all, it's the thought that counts. In a rallying call for Singaporeans to come together and rise stronger from the challenges this year has brought us, Sentosa Development Corporation (SDC) invites all to share their hopes and aspirations for the future which are transplanted onto 10,000 recyclable flags planted on Siloso Beach.

Collectively known as the Flag of Unity, the unique installation of red and white flags span 4,500 square-metre across Siloso Beach, forming a giant display of this year's National Day Parade (NDP2020) logo and theme 'Together, A Stronger Singapore'. Each flag bears a heartfelt message from members of the public.

From now till August 8, you can submit your birthday wishes online, and/or read the celebratory messages from others too. Pen your thoughts or dedicate words of thanks to the unsung heroes who have never failed to brighten your day. Plus, you can stand a chance to win attractive prizes, as every 20th submission receives a pair of wireless earbuds worth $20.

Feel that Singapore pride as the giant display of flags greet you upon your return to Siloso Beach this National Day's weekend, in which you'll be able to read the heartfelt messages. After the National Day celebrations, the flags are then upcycled into usable items such as bags, in line with SDC’s commitment to environmental sustainability.
