A perfect world is where you can bring your pets everywhere. But like how we wish money grew on trees and losing weight is as easy as gaining it, a pet-friendly world is only an elusive dream. Thankfully, there's the compromise of numerous pet boarding homes that will take care of your pet while you're away. We're sure that Mrs Whiskers or General Woof won't even notice your absence.

Pamper your pooch or kitty with five-star treatment at The Wagington. Its luxe suites are equipped with sumptuous furnishings, quality handcrafted soft faux leather orthopedic beds, and high-definition webcam to keep an eye on the furry guest. The doggy daycare has plenty of activities for your active furkid to exercise and socialise too. Your dog can beat the heat in its bone-shaped pool. Did we also mention the salon and spa for your pets' grooming and beauty needs?

Besides a grooming salon for rabbits, cats and dogs, Pets Eden also doubles as a cat hotel. Think of it as a staycation where its cosy suites (from $28) are air-conditioned and steam-sterilised for all its cool cat guests. The expansive floor-to-ceiling vertical room gives your furkid plenty of space to run riot, climbing about its personal furniture. It also has cushioned alcoves and soothing music for a relaxing lounge. With experienced staff monitoring round the clock, your cat is in save hands.

  • Pasir Ris

Whether you’re making room for a mutt or a mitten, this is one community that has your back. It's boarding services offer single and double rooms complete with adjustable food and water bowls and elevated dog beds (from $40), and a pool if your buddy's looking for a splashing good time. Mutts ‘n’ Mittens also houses rescued strays that are up for adoption. Ditching any forms of restrictions, the canine and feline housemates are encouraged to socialise at the Living Room and the Kitty Korner respectively.

Sunny Heights
  • Hotels
  • Bukit Timah

Dog hotel? Not really. Sunny Heights insists it’s more of a fun dog camp when you leave your pooch in their care! The boarding house offers two options: pack boarding (from $35 per day), and suite boarding (from $42 per day) for guests that value privacy. Selecting the former opens the floor to off-leash runs in premise’s sprawling in-house compound, dips in a swimming pool, and games with the on-duty chaperones. The pack boarding, however, requires at least a four-day day care at the establishment for temperament assessment and socialising with the other guests.

Dear Mutt
  • Hotels
  • Bishan

Right off the bat, Dear Mutt’s boarding home is a picture of cleanliness, further proven by the establishment’s compulsory hygiene assessment of the canine boarders. Doing without the confinement of cages and crates, Dear Mutt has opted for a boarding layout that likens to a cheery dormitory (from $60 per day). Complemented by aromatherapy and ambient music, each guest is housed in a space that is roomy enough for free roaming. Furthermore, the place has adopted an open concept so that the on-duty can keep a watchful eye on the tenants. If that still doesn’t quell a worrisome dog parent, then there’s the CCTV surveillance for keeping tabs of their pooch. An additional fee is required for this extra service though.

Nekoya Cat Hotel
  • Hotels
  • Geylang

With three outlets under its belt, Nekoya Cat Hotel is very much sought-after for its cat boarding services (from $35 per night). Perhaps it is the hotel’s cosy makeup of wooden panels and roomy housing cabins that reels in clientele. But we suspect it is the prowess behind the people running the establishment that has won hearts over. For starters, the hotel are willing to mirror the feline guests’ routine and are very attentive to what your cats are doing at all time. Besides that they make sure your precious pets get their rest, relaxation, engagement and enjoyment time that they deserve.

Le Meow Cat Hotel

  • Hougang

A Muji-esque abode, but for cats, comes to mind when you turn your attention to Le Meow Cat Hotel. For the boarding house abides by the principles of minimalist living, feline guests can look forward to a clutter-free stay (from $35 per night), with the exception of scratching posts, squeaky toys and copious amounts of daylight that shines through the floor-to-ceiling windows. With its positioning as a hotel, Le Meow Cat Hotel even offers room service in the form of wholesome gourmet treats ($2.50 each), topped with omega-rich fish flakes.

Pawshake
  • Hotels
  • Raffles Place

There are numerous established pet boarding homes out there. Then there is Pawshake – a service that taps into the pet community for sole purpose of matching insured pet sitters, dog walkers, and home boarding options. In other words, think Tinder, but for pet solution services. The service, available on the browser or via an app, lets pet owners find a verified sitter within the neighbourhood. Of course, some homework is required on your part, such as looking through the sitters’ past reviews, to ensure everything’s a go. Prices are considerably lower than that of pet boarding homes at $15 per day. For more information, head to pawshake.com.sg.
