The hidden pool beneath Stockholm’s Old Town

Tucked away inside a hotel dating back to 1617, it’s a hidden oasis that’s cool in more ways than one.

Introducing Hôtel Reisen, now part of Hyatt's Unbound Collection. It’s a five-star waterfront hotel in a building with more than 400 years of history, where old brick walls meet modern Scandinavian design.

The building started life as a drinking den and coffee house for sailors and poets, and even earned a mention from the beloved Swedish poet and songwriter Carl Michael Bellman, long before becoming the luxury hotel it is today. The rooms are elegant and comfy, and the views are some of the best in town, but its biggest treasure lies beneath ground level.

Under the ancient brick vaults, there's an underground spa and pool. To make the experience even more Scandinavian, the pool stays around 15°C – perfect for that true coolcation experience that the Swedish capital has become known for. Luckily, there is also a sauna right next to it to warm up afterwards.

The catch? You’ll have to book a stay at the hotel to take a dip.
