Stockholm’s 11 best vintage shops

Stockholm is one of the Nordics’ best cities for vintage shopping – if you know where to look. These are the shops worth your time (and your money)

Stockholmers shop second hand as if it were a sport – and in some neighbourhoods, it almost is. The city’s wide range of vintage and second hand shops reflects a fashion awareness that’s hard to miss.

Shopping vintage in Stockholm has never been more varied. Whether you’re looking for designer pieces from Scandinavian premium brands, classic tailored menswear, colourful ’70s fashion or affordable bargains, there’s something for every style and budget.

It’s no coincidence that Södermalm is absolutely packed with vintage shops. Along Hornsgatan alone, between Slussen and Zinkensdamm, around twenty second hand stores line up in what’s often called Stockholm’s ‘slow fashion district’, with even more waiting around Nytorget. But neighbourhoods like Vasastan and Östermalm have also established themselves as strong areas for sustainable and style-conscious shopping.

In this guide, we’ve rounded up Stockholm’s best vintage shops – from iconic classics and well-known chains to more niche boutiques with a distinct point of view. Whether you’re looking for statement pieces or planning to build an entire second hand wardrobe, these are the shops to start with.

The best vintage shops in Stockholm

1. Beyond Retro

In a basement space just a stone’s throw from Zinkensdamm metro station, Beyond Retro spreads out across its largest Stockholm store – and yes, it’s every bit as chaotic as it sounds. Shaggy ’70s jackets hang alongside ’90s denim, sportswear, party dresses and oddball statement pieces in a gloriously messy, occasionally hard-to-navigate mix.

It’s cluttered – and that’s exactly the point. The best finds require patience, a trained eye and the ability not to give up after the first lap around the shop. But once you strike gold at Beyond Retro, it feels like hitting the jackpot.

If you can’t face digging quite so deep, there’s a more accessible (and smaller) Beyond Retro store in the city centre at Drottninggatan 77.

Address: Brännkyrkagatan 82, Zinkensdamm, Södermalm. Opening hours: Mon-Fri 10:00-19:00, Sat 11:00-18:00, Sun 12:00-18:00.

2. Aplace

Hidden at the back of the Aplace store inside Bruno Mall on Södermalm is the brand’s second hand section – a more curated counterpoint to the city’s messier vintage scene. Here, it’s less about digging and more about finding the right piece straight away in a carefully selected collection where every item feels handpicked.

The selection sits firmly in the premium segment: Scandinavian brands like Acne Studios and Our Legacy meet streetwear labels such as Stüssy, Supreme and Carhartt, alongside international fashion houses including Dries Van Noten and Balenciaga.

Unsurprisingly, the high-profile selection and exclusive brands are reflected in the prices. It’s significantly more expensive than the average vintage shop, but still far below what the same pieces would cost new.

Address: Bruno Mall, Götgatan 36, Södermalm. Opening hours: Mon-Fri 11:00-19:00, Sat 11:00-18:00 and Sun 12:00-17:00.

3. Pop Stockholm

After two laps around Pop’s small vintage shop near Nytorget, it’s easy to feel like you’ve wandered into one of Brick Lane’s more colourful second hand stores.

Pop has been part of Södermalm’s vintage scene since the early 2010s, and the racks are filled with bold – and we really do mean bold – pieces from the 1950s, ’60s, ’70s, ’80s and ’90s, with an unusually balanced selection for both men and women.

The shop is compact and packed to the brim, but despite the slightly overwhelming feeling, the selection is carefully considered. This is the opposite of Scandinavian minimalism – and if you love ’60s and ’70s fashion, it’s hard to find a better shopping address in Stockholm. Extra points for the range of rock’n’roll jackets in both leather and suede.

Address: Åsögatan 140, Nytorget, Södermalm. Opening hours: Mon-Fri 12:00-18:30, Sat 12:00-18:00 and Sun 12:00-17:00.

4. Judits Second Hand / Herr Judit

On Hornsgatan, in the heart of Södermalm’s densest vintage strip, the Judits universe is split into two clearly connected worlds: Judits Second Hand for women and unisex fashion, and Herr Judit just a few metres away. Together, they form one of the district’s most established vintage destinations, with roots stretching back to the 1990s.

The selection is airy, well organised and carefully curated, with everything from timeless classics to designer pieces and more niche second hand finds. But the expressions differ slightly: Judits Second Hand leans more towards feminine vintage and designer fashion, while Herr Judit has a stronger focus on tailoring, workwear and classic menswear. What they share is the constant feeling of a tasteful, thoughtfully assembled selection.

Address: Hornsgatan 75 and Hornsgatan 64, Zinkensdamm, Södermalm. Opening hours: Mon-Fri 11:00-18:00, Sat 11:00-16:00 (17:00 for Herr Judit) and Sun 12:00-16:00.

5. Arkivet

Arkivet has quickly become one of Stockholm’s sleekest second hand destinations. Everything here is carefully curated, with a clear focus on womenswear: from contemporary Scandinavian brands to more exclusive designer pieces, all in a setting that feels closer to a boutique than a second hand shop.

Behind the concept is Caroline Hamrin, who first discovered vintage through her grandmother’s shop in Sundbyberg in the 1980s. Today, Arkivet has several locations across Stockholm and Gothenburg, but the original store on Norrtullsgatan, which opened in 2017, remains something of a benchmark.

Here, you’re met by a carefully considered selection where every piece has already passed a tough quality check. Prices reflect that – but in return, you get one of Stockholm’s most accessible and exclusive second hand shopping experiences.

Address: Several locations, including Norrtullsgatan 33, Odenplan, Vasastan. Opening hours: Mon-Fri 11:00-18:00, Sat 11:00-17:00 and Sun 12:00-16:00.

6. Lisa Larsson Second Hand

On Bondegatan in Södermalm sits Lisa Larsson Second Hand – one of Stockholm’s most classic vintage addresses and a shop that has attracted visitors looking for older, more era-specific pieces for decades. The focus is firmly on the 1940s, ’50s, ’60s and ’70s, with particular attention paid to dresses, coats and accessories.

Unlike more trend-driven second hand shops, the selection here is shaped by vintage in its purest form. The range can be uneven, but a trained second hand eye can be richly rewarded. The shop also now houses a smaller menswear section: Herr Larsson.

It doesn’t need a website. Its reputation is enough.

Address: Bondegatan 48, Södermalm. Opening hours vary – keep an eye on Instagram: @lisalarssonssecondhand.

7. Oscar Sustain

Oscar Sustain is Oscar Jacobson’s second hand and circular fashion concept, where the menswear brand’s own pieces are given a new life in a more contemporary retail setting. Tailoring, premium streetwear and classic wardrobe staples sit side by side in a selection that reflects the brand’s clear aesthetic.

Unlike more eclectic second hand shops, this is less about variety and more about consistency of style, where everything is designed to fit into a modern, dressed-up wardrobe.

Prices sit at the higher end, but for anyone who loves the world of Oscar Jacobson, it’s a chance to find previous collections and reworked pieces. Extra points for the option to rent suits and tuxedos for special occasions when your wardrobe needs levelling up.

Address: Birger Jarlsgatan 78, Östermalm. Opening hours: Mon-Fri 11:00-18:30, Sat 11:00-17:00, closed Sundays.

8. Myrorna

Myrorna is no secret – but the branch in Ropsten still feels like one. If you’re willing to head beyond the central shopping streets, one of Stockholm’s most underrated vintage destinations awaits. Spread across several floors and around 2,000 square metres, the huge premises offer far more room to think big than Myrorna’s more centrally located stores.

What makes the Ropsten branch unique is its enormous range of interiors, furniture and unexpected finds. With a little patience – and ideally access to a car if you’re hunting for furniture – there’s a good chance you’ll leave with something you didn’t know you needed until you found it.

Address: Kolargatan 2, Ropsten. Opening hours: Mon-Fri 10:00-18:00, Sat 10:00-17:00 and Sun 11:00-17:00.

9. Stockholms Stadsmission

On Skånegatan by Nytorget sits what many would call the crown jewel of Stockholm Stadsmission’s second hand stores. The atmosphere feels less flea market – unlike more traditional second hand chains like Myrorna and Humana, where it’s often all about volume and bargain hunting – and more curated boutique, with a selection spanning trend-conscious clothing, books, vinyl and smaller interior finds. It’s one of the reasons the shop has become a favourite for vintage shopping in the SoFo area.

The fact that all profits go back into Stockholm Stadsmission’s social work also makes this one of the city’s more feel-good ways to shop.

Address: Skånegatan 75, Nytorget, Södermalm. Opening hours: Mon-Fri 10:00-19:00, Sat 11:00-18:00 and Sun 12:00-17:00.

10. Napoli Centrale

Since opening in 2023, Napoli Centrale has quickly become a natural part of Södermalm’s winding vintage scene. The focus here is firmly on Italian fashion, with pieces sourced from Italy and brands like Gucci, Dolce & Gabbana and Valentino, mixed with references to Neapolitan culture and icons such as Maradona.

The selection often leans towards colourful ’70s fashion with an expressive, almost theatrical feel rather than understated vintage. Behind the counter, the engaged and chatty staff add to the atmosphere, making the shop as much a social experience as a shopping one.

Address: Sankt Paulsgatan 3, Slussen, Södermalm. Opening hours: Mon-Fri 11:00-19:00, Sat 11:00-18:00 and Sun 11:30-17:30.

11. Siv & Åke

Part of the charm of small-scale vintage shops lies in the passion of their owners, and that’s especially clear at sibling-run Siv & Åke, which has been around since 2015. The cosy factor in the small but airy shop is high, and the carefully curated selection focuses on high-quality vintage clothing and accessories from around the world, spanning the 1950s to the ’90s.

Address: Sankt Paulsgatan 20, Mariatorget, Södermalm. Opening hours: Mon-Fri 11:00-18:00, Sat 11:00-17:00 and Sun 12:00-17:00.
