Sometimes the best way to relieve stress is by embracing your creativity, and ArtBar Tokyo is here to help. While the art studio is currently closed due to the Covid-19 coronavirus pandemic, it is offering interactive painting classes online via Zoom. There are classes scheduled every day of the week until May 10, including sessions for kids, too.

Aspiring painters can choose to paint landscape scenes including Mt Fuji, the Meguro River during cherry blossom season and Tokyo Tower at sunset, or learn how to paint works inspired by famous artists such as Van Gogh, Klimt, and even Monet and his water lilies.

A painting session starts at ¥2,000 (plus tax) – but for that price, you'll need to have your own painting supplies at home. If you have paints but no canvas, ArtBar can send you a canvas, upping the total price to ¥3,000. For those who need to buy all the materials, the complete kit plus a spot in the class is ¥4,500; it comes with an F6 canvas, acrylic paints and a three-brush set which you can keep.
