Standing in long queues for rides under the July sun is no fun, so Universal Studios Japan is bringing back a familiar feature to keep you cool in the summer. From now through August 24, you'll be able to catch the No Limit! Summer event, which is basically a massive water gun battle between guests and USJ’s most popular characters.

This is the first time in four years that the park is hosting the event after a long Covid-related hiatus, so there will be more than a few new faces joining the party this season. This includes Mario, Luigi, Princess Peach and other characters from the Super Nintendo World area, which opened in the spring of 2021.

The event will be held every day through August 24 at 2pm, 3.50pm and 5.40pm at USJ’s Gramercy Park area. Each session is scheduled to run for about 15 minutes and is expected to involve roughly 600 people at a time. Needless to say, you’ll get wet in the crossfire, but we can’t think of a better way to stay cool and have fun at the same time.

In addition to the daily splash fest, USJ's summer programme includes a new set of festivals and live productions, like the new One Piece Premier Summer 2023 show which doubles as a fireworks display.
