Noboribetsu, Hokkaido


Noboribetsu is undoubtedly Hokkaido’s most renowned onsen resort, offering over ten types of thermal waters plus a range of large ryokan and hotels, making it an ideal destination for hot spring enthusiasts. Even if you’re not staying overnight, you can still enjoy the hot springs, as many of the town’s ryokan and hotels open their baths to daytime visitors. There’s also Sagiriyu Public Bath, a popular communal bathhouse you can stop by in town.
How to get there: Noboribetsu is about an hour’s drive from Sapporo’s New Chitose Airport. You can also reach Noboribetsu Station by train in roughly 50 minutes from New Chitose Airport Station, with a quick transfer at Minami-Chitose Station.
