This year's theme is 'Connecting People to Nature' and includes a film screening, plus panel discussions.
The World Environment Day is a United Nations’ initiative with the overall goal to encourage worldwide awareness and action for the protection of our environment. On the 5th of June every year, over 100 countries in the world organise various environmental programs to raise awareness on the environment and the need to become agents of change.
In Accra, the Ghana Wildlife Society, in partnership with Alliance Française Accra and support from Birdlife International will join the rest of the world to celebrate 2017 World Environment Day under the theme 'Connecting people to nature'.
The celebration will be in the form of a short film show and a panel discussion. Afterwards, there will be a cocktail session and a mini photo exhibition to give participants an opportunity to deliberate further on the issues discussed and network with other corporate partners.
