These four courageous acts of equality will motivate you to do something good for your New Year's resolution.

1.) Keep Walking Colombia by Johnnie Walker

The world’s purveyor of Scotch whiskey Johnnie Walker has teamed up with Bogotá’s Museum of Modern Art to create a featured documentary spotlighting on the tragic, yet heart-warming stories of the Colombians divided by the long-lasting civil war. In this short film that promotes peace and equality, the blind former police officer and other war victims recount their tragic stories, as they strip down their clothes for the mass nude photoshoot taken by the acclaimed photographer Spencer Tunick. What makes this piece particularly distinct though, is not the magnitude of nudity, but how over 6,000 fractured Colombians managed to put their political agendas aside and “keep waking” towards a reunited Colombia. Watch the dramatic video here.

2.) HeForShe

Made famous by Emma Watson’s, aka the Global Goodwill Ambassador of UN Women, viral speech at UN Headquarter in New York in 2004, HeForShe aims to tackle inequality faced by women around the world by bringing boys and men to take part in this issue. Through multiple initiatives, the campaign promotes how both sexes must work together to end sexual discrimination and promote gender equality.

3.) United Colors of Benetton’s controversial advertisement

Italian fashion giant United Color of Benetton has long been combatting discrimination and promoting love and social equality in the form of simple and controversial images that manage to bring out impactful messages.

4.) #LoveWins by Freedom to Marry

You may have noticed the storm of #LoveWins hashtag last year that results in the U.S. Supreme Court’s decision to allow same sex marriage nationwide. It happened thanks to the sweat and tears of the NGO group called Freedom to Marry that gathered helps from politicians, celebrities and global brands to raise awareness of gender inequality that blocked same-sex couple to enjoy the same benefits as heterosexuals.
