Time Out says

A day in the Asoke neighbourhood is brilliant for shoppers by day and revellers by night, but with the constant crowds milling about, it’s hardly a place to unwind. Fortunately, just across from Terminal 21 and only steps from BTS Asoke and MRT Sukhumvit lies the tranquil haven of Makkha Health & Spa Bangkok (Heritage Asoke) – a peaceful alternative to the area’s daily chaos.

Makkha Health & Spa is no stranger to the world of wellness. With six branches in Bangkok and four in Chiang Mai, each location is designed to reflect the character of its surroundings. But what sets Heritage Asoke apart is its standalone presence, which is so distinctive that visitors might easily mistake it for a boutique hotel.

Outside, the building showcases a sleek, curved facade wrapped in vertical wooden slats that create a rhythmic play of light and shadow. The design artfully balances contemporary architectural lines with natural textures and warm hues, reflecting the spa’s identity as a peaceful sanctuary amid the city’s constant bustle.

When stepping inside, you’ll find a warm, welcoming space dedicated to remedies and relaxation. The modern Asian interiors are underpinned by a zen-inspired atmosphere, with high ceilings and spacious layouts infused with subtle notes of essential oils and herbal warmth.

If you love a little privacy during your spa visit, you’ll appreciate your own cosy suite here. Spread across two floors, there are three room options to choose from: a solo retreat, a couple’s haven or a family-friendly space. Each is equipped with a shower and a hairdryer. Some even feature a bathtub, offering a soothing milky bath experience.

But don’t think you won’t find Thai massages here. The therapists have gone through over 300 hours of training, blending traditional Thai techniques with modern wellness knowledge. They offer a curated selection of packages, including Thai massage (starting at B850), hot aroma oil massage (starting at B1,590) and milky bath (starting at B1,390). I went for the aroma oil massage and facial treatment (B2,880) to ease stiffness from office syndrome.

The session starts with a glass of aromatic bael fruit juice, served with rice crackers. While enjoying this, the staff gave me a questionnaire to choose my preferred pressure, select from five aroma oils –  jasmine, rose, lavender, citronella and orange-cinnamon – and mark areas to focus on or avoid.

During the two-hour treatment, the therapist spent the first hour working on every part of my body – pressing pressure points, easing out knots and working their soothing magic using aromatherapy spa products from WANWAAN, a brand known for its natural scents and gentle formulas. At times, the therapist did hit some painful spots, but you can always let her know gently if anything feels uncomfortable. She’ll adjust the pressure right away. The second hour was all about the face. The therapist used Clarins products for a deeply relaxing facial massage that left my skin feeling soft, hydrated and visibly refreshed. It was the kind of glow you don’t want to wash off.

The experience wrapped up with a plate of sweet mango and sticky rice, making for a comforting end to a deeply relaxing visit.

You’ll leave your session at Makkha Health & Spa Bangkok feeling rejuvenated and rebalanced. This is the place for anyone seeking a serene escape right in the heart of the city. Getting here is easy. Just take the BTS to Asok or the MRT to Sukhumvit, and the spa’s shuttle service can pick you up and drop you off at the stations or at Emsphere, Emporium or EmQuartier. If you’re driving, there’s parking available as well.
