Time Out says

5 out of 5 stars

Escape from Bangkok’s city bustle at Marriott’s venture in this popular seaside town.

If you’re looking for comfort and serenity within drivable distance from the capital, we highly recommend Hua Hin Marriott Resort & Spa. A stay at the huge resort feels more than just a brief retreat from the big city. Here you have everything to fulfil your need for a fantastic getaway: a room that features first-class amenities, a beachfront location, great restaurants and bars, a quiet spa, a well-equipped fitness center and five pools. If these aren’t enough, we don’t know what more you need!

Just in case you need more convincing, we’ll throw in a few more praises. The hotel is stylishly designed inside out, plus Thai hospitality is at its most exceptional. Upon stepping into the lobby, we were greeted by a team of smiling personnel who gave us a personalized welcome. This good first impression became a lasting one when we experienced excellent service throughout our stay.

Step out of the lobby and you’ll be greeted by a breathtaking view of the resort grounds. A lagoon winds through the premises, giving a sense of serenity to the entire place. The lagoon connects rooms with pool access so you and your family can swim from one side of the resort to another if you really wanted to.

Marriott has a total of 322 rooms and nine different types, each one equipped with modern conveniences, such as USB sockets, a smart light system and high-speed internet. Too bad a bathtub isn’t available in every room.

If you come all the way to the seaside town, then seafood is a must. Big Fish & Bar, set on the beachfront terrace, has a huge line-up of seafood-forward Thai and international fare. But you also have more options at Amber Kitchen, the resort’s all-day dining room. Breakfast is served here, and the widespread buffet deserves applause. Why not have Thai-style pork skewers, noodle soup, dimsum and ice cream in the morning?

Quan Spa also merits special mention. We had an oil massage and, oh lord of the hotel realm, every sore spot was efficiently dealt with. Our bodies melted into puddles of pure relaxation under the hands of the able therapists. One hour is totally not enough.

You may not want to leave the resort while here on holiday, but the perks of staying at this Marriott is its convenient location. You can easily shop at the local markets or go kiteboarding half a kilometer away. A boat trip out to sea is also possible and recommended.

Hua Hin Marriott mostly attracts family vacationers, which means it’s highly kid-friendly. But this doesn’t mean lovebirds longing for a private escape can’t come here. Weekdays are  perfect if you want a more peaceful vibe. All in all, this resort is worth it for friends, family, or lovers.
