Artist Akkara Naktamna’s ironic sense of humor and ambivalence toward the Buddhist faith manifests in his latest solo exhibition Demonic. This set displays a series of photos that question the sanctity of the Buddhist faith, and trains the spotlight on the perceived downfall of Buddhism in the last few years, as revealed in scandalous issues involving temples being accused of fund fraud or monks wearing designer clothing while traveling in a luxurious jet.

German Film Week at Goethe-Institut; 12 am; B100

German Film Week returns this 8-14 July. Brought to you by the Goethe-Institut in collaboration with Austria, France, Israel and Switzerland, this edition of the film festival features nine award-winning German movies and two documentaries. The featured movies include “All about me”; “Gundermann”; “Egon Schiele: Death And The Maiden”; “Supa Modo”; “The Cakemaker”; “Atlas”; “The Young Karl Marx”; “System Crasher” and “Heidi.” Also, two documentaries, “The Cleaners” and “Life in Stills,” will be screened in addition to the movies.
