It's now this time of the year when many Thai-Chinese individuals practice spiritual and physical cleansing by eating vegetarian for about ten days, and we all call it Jay Festival.
Also jumped onto the meatless bandwagon are 17 dining rooms at Marriott-family hotels across Bangkok, all of which will be churning out vegetarian dishes with creative twists of international and modern cuisine.
Siam Tea Room at Bangkok Marriott Marquis Queen’s Park and The House of Smooth Curry at The Athenee Hotel, for example, are dishing out a Thai take on Jay menus. Meanwhile, if you're looking for something quite different for Jay Festival this year, JW Marriott's Tsu, The Athenee's Kintsugi, and The Westin's Kisso have prepared Japanese dishes that use plant-based ingredients to cook for you. But if you're a European cuisine enthusiast, how about some delicious fare at The Allium at The Athenee Hotel and The Kitchen Table at W Bangkok?
And don't worry if you're very strict about eating Jay, they all make sure every offering is free of non-Jay ingredients like garlic, onions, and other dairy products.
Every restaurant promises a Jay dish with a price starting at only B199. All are available throughout October. See the list of all participating dining rooms below:
