21-day mourning period announced for the death of Prem Tinsulanonda

Royal Thai Government Gazette announced yesterday (26 May) that the government has declared a mourning period for the passing of General Prem Tinsulaninde, who passed away yesterday at the of 98 at Phramongkutklao Hospital. 

All government, state enterprise offices, and educational institutions were ordered to fly Thai national flags at half-mast for seven days (until 2 June). Meanwhile, the palace and state officials are required to wear mourning attires for 21 days from today until June 17, with an exception of June 3 which coincides with the birthday of Her Majesty Queen Suthida.

The mourning is not excised upon the general public.
