We all know there are plenty of new openings popping up in Bangkok all the time. So Time Out Bangkok has an idea to gather all those new venues in our beloved city for a weekly roundup for you, food enthusiasts. To wrap up June with a satisfied belly, this week, we are introducing 3 new restaurants and cafes around town that you have to check out.

Baan Progressive Thai Cuisine

Situated behind Asia Hotel in Ratchathewi, Baan is a cozy eatery serving up self-claimed progressive Thai dishes on budget-friendly prices. Recommendations include grilled Pone Yang Kham beef served with rice (picanha B295, ribs eye B315), chili-and-garlic crispy pork served with rice and an egg pickled in fish sauce (B159), and stir-fried pork with shrimp paste served on rice and topped with an Onsen egg (B99). Don't miss to try their desserts, too.

Botanica Cafe

You gotta travel a little further for this newly-opened coffee shop as Botanica Cafe is located near Samrong BTS station. It takes a while to get there but, hey, at least we'll be closer to greenery. Loving to share his private collection of vintage collectibles to like-minded admirers, the collector owner dresses up his cafe in a chillax mood, making it feel like you're visiting a loving friend's cottage. Plants, another of what he's fond of, can also be found throughout the space, hanging next to vintage furniture. Recommend drinks include Botanica Coffee, a matcha-based drink topped with espresso shot (B115); Nor-bi, a drink originated in Laos which mixed espresso coffee with Thai milk tea (B95); a Banoffee-inspried coffee drink (B115). Cakes and desserts, served on beautiful vintage china, are made daily in limited number, so make sure you check real-time updates on their Facebook page.

15 Sukhumvit Roadd, Sam Rong Nua. Samrong BTS station. Open Thu-Tue 10:30-20:00. 08 1663 8884

Easy Buddy Bangkok

Named after the chef/owner of the eatery, Easy Buddy focuses on a go-to Thai dish: Pad Kaprow, but in numerous creative forms. Not sure what to try first? Pick one from their recommended combo menu, of which your choices are the signature Buddy’s Favourite (beef-Kaprao fried sticky rice with overnight-marinated beef, crispy-burnt duck egg, and caramelized corn, B250); the Healthy By Any Chance? (Kaprao-stirred quinoa with grilled salmon and Onsen egg, B330); and Richman's Beef Bowl (beef-Kaprao fried rice with beef tenderloin steak, crispy fired duck egg, and crispy fried garlic bits, B390).

92/5, Glowfish Office, 2/F Sathorn Thani 2 Building, Sathorn Road, Bang Rak. Chong Nonsi BTS station. Open Mon-Sat 10:00-20:30. 06 5535 9319; and 6/F Open House at Central Embassy. Pleon Chit BTS station. Open daily 10:00-22:00. 08 9455 5424
