Nordic Film Festival Bangkok 2019 at Quartier CineArt

Back for the third year in a row, The Nordic Film Festival is hosted by the Embassies of Denmark, Finland, Norway, and Sweden. This festival is to highlight the success of Nordic films and celebrate the culture. There will be eight films shown through a span of three days.

Steve Hughes Live in Bangkok at The Westin Grande Sukhumvit; 8 pm

Laugh till your stomach hurts this 27 Sep. Standup Asia is bringing in Aussie comedy legend Steve Hughes for his Bangkok debut. Hughes is known for his social satire and provocative humor. The act will be supported by Irish Aidan Killian starting from 8 pm. 

Shintaro Kago: Strange Collection at Code Corner; 2 pm; B200

Famed Japanese manga artist Shintaro Kago is coming to showcase his dark and controversial aesthetic this September 27 at Code Corner. Shintaro is best known for his distinct blend of eroticism and psychedelic illustrations, most of which are known to provoke discomfort yet fascination to the viewers.

Lukas Graham at GMM Live House; 8 pm; tickets are B2,000 and B2,500

Danish pop band Lukas Graham is coming to the city for their Bangkok debut this 28 Sep. The trio took the world by storm in 2015 with their smashing hit song, “7 Years”, which landed the band the top spot on the UK Singles Chart as well as three Grammy nominations. Not long after, Lukas Graham dropped several international hits like “You’re Not There” and “Drunk In The Morning.” For their Bangkok concert, the band will most likely perform all their hit singles and their latest heartfelt track, “Love Someone,” where they dig deeper into different narratives of love. 

Coffee & Beyond - A Workshop by Roots at The Commons; 10 am

Craft your very own caffeinated drinks using locally-grown coffee and produce like honey and luk-nhai (plum) at the workshop hosted by Roots at The Commons. 

Yoppa Lounge Weekend music lounge at Yoshibar; 8 pm

This Saturday, Yoshibar is once again hosting Yoppa Lounge, a weekend music event featuring eclectic beats, sake, and food pairing. Lineup includes Dj Takamichi and Hidemasa Mitsui. 

Brazilian Night at Havana Social; 6 pm

Havana Social is bringing back their famous Brazilian Night for the 5th edition this Saturday featuring Latin beats by DJ Henry Knowles and DJ Yvan Polge as well as live music and dance by Baila Conmigo.
