This year, the flea market occupies Urban Yard, and favors bookworms by bringing in bookstores, book collectors and importers offering an extensive collection of English-language titles. Renowned Thai street photographer Chatchai Boonyaprapatsara explores the relevance of Thainess in the digital age. The series, which was created over a 10-year period, shows how traditional Thai elements curiously collide with more modern influences, such as when a woman wearing traditional Thai clothing and a golden deer headpiece walks down the escalator in a shopping mall.

Of Monsters And Men at Moon Star Studio; 9 pm; B2,500 

For the first time ever, Icelandic indie folk/pop band Of Monsters And Men will be performing live in Bangkok. The band had their first taste of the spotlight when they won Iceland’s annual music competition, Musiktilraunir, in 2010. The group’s debut album the following year, My Head Is an Animal, landed the band several spots on the charts, including No. 6 on the US Billboard 200 album and No.3 in the UK . Their hits include “Little Talks,” “Dirty Paws,” and “King and Lionheart.”

Jaras Light Fes at Bangkok Art And Culture Centre; free entry 

To stimulate interest in the use of alternative energy for power generation, the Bangkok Art
and Culture Centre (BACC) has come up with Jaras Light Fes, an outdoor lighting festival featuring dazzling installations created by several Thai artists using electricity produced from solar cells.
