Air traffic connections between Phuket and Samui, two of Thailand's most famous islands, are making a comeback this week on Wednesday, August 25, after a month of hiatus due to the Delta variant outbreak. The return of the direct flights is aimed at supporting weekenders who wish to hop between islands under the guidelines of the upgraded Phuket Sandbox 7+7 program.
Bangkok Airways will operate three Phuket-Samui direct flights per week on Monday, Wednesday, and Friday throughout August. The flight will leave Samui for Phuket at 11:25 and will depart Phuket for Samui at 13:00. The local airline is looking to fly daily in September.
