Foodie heaven is a place on Earth andif you’re in Bangkok you don’t need to look too far. Food & Wine just dropped its list of Global Tastemakers 2025: Top 10 International Cities for Food and Drinks and the Big Mango has claimed the number-one spot.

It’s no secret that Bangkok is one of the world’s great dining capitals but now another list makes it even more official. The choices here are both wide and wild, from cheap-but-brilliant street eats to royal Thai recipes passed down through generations. In this city, every bite is a story and regret is rarely on the menu.

As the so-called ‘kitchen of the world,’ we’ve got to raise a toast to the local legends and international chefs who keep pushing creative boundaries. Together, they make it easy to see why the Big Mango has been crowned king of the culinary world.

This year, Tokyo takes second place, celebrated for its unmatched precision and creativity from sushi temples to grand tasting menus. Mexico City lands in third, where ancient flavours meet modern innovation.

Here’s the full list of the Top 10 Cities for Food and Drinks in 2025:

  1. Bangkok

  2. Tokyo

  3. Mexico City

  4. Barcelona

  5. Hong Kong

  6. London

  7. Paris

The honours weren’t handed out lightly. Food & Wine polled more than 400 chefs, travel experts, writers, and wine professionals around the world to gather their picks. The magazine’s Global Advisory Board then worked with its editors to review and rank the nominees.

The list is more than just bragging rights but it’s a roadmap for food hunters around the world. Gastronomy tourism has never been hotter and cities like Bangkok are proving that food is as impactful as any landmark when it comes to drawing visitors. It’s a tribute to culture, resilience and spirit – all served on one plate.
