Remember that orange building on the corner of Charoenkrung Road and Phadung Krungkasem Canal? It goes by the name of Chai Pattanasilp and is older than your grandmother. Throughout its 100-plus-year lifespan, the building has served many functions, from housing one of Bangkok’s first soda makers to being a warehouse for sneakers inventory to, most recently, an indoor skating room. Now, the descendants of its owners are giving the space another go at transformation, this time as a multi-purpose arts and creative space called The Corner House, a name that reflects its location, but one which also reminds us of a similar venue. (Yes, we’re talking about Soho House).

So far, we know that the three-level building will be remodeled with much respect to the original Sino-colonial structure. Minimalist-Brutalist interiors will be added to give a more contemporary feel to the space. We’ve also been told that the first floor will house a dining area while the third floor will become a “co-playing” space called Such a Small World. The building will also have an outdoor rooftop space.

The Corner House is set to open on Nov 24. We’ll keep you updated once we have more info.
