Hype
Part of Awakening Bangkok festival of lighting showcases, Hype is a massive kinetic light display by visual artist TYJ. He, inspired by the notion of lighting in any form—from blazing fires to glittering lights—holds an allure for human beings, creates this mesmerizing light trap with its lighting effects encompassed by cutting-edge sounds. It is on display until Nov 24 at the space between River City and Royal Orchid Sheraton.
The History of Persian Carpet
River City showcases priceless Persian carpets in six different concepts for you to delve into the rich history of the Persian textiles. The exhibition is open until Nov 24.
Yestertodaymorrow
Bangkok-born, New York-based artist Kantapon “Gongkan” Metheekul explores how time has an overbearing control in our lives. The artist compares his own time to a river that doesn't flow backward, and makes us question if we would be able to really enjoy life or see its many facets and colors if we had complete control of time. Check out the exhibit until Jan 9, 2020.
Layers of Tranquility
The first solo show of the artist, Layers of Tranquility features paintings by young artist Mi Qiaoming, who juxtaposes Western oil painting and Chinese ink painting, making it her personal style. The show is on from now until Dec 14.
181 Degrees
Japanese photographer Yoshiki Hase debuts in Bangkok with a series of unconventional landscape photography. The show runs from now until Jan 2.
